My experience at the Haymarket Family and Cosmetic Dentistry was outstanding as usual. My Hygienist is excellent and thorough, encouraging and never judgmental. The Doctor advises as to alternate possible courses of action but is never pushy but allowing and encouraging you to have things done on your schedule, when you want them, not when he does. I would encourage anyone who needs a dentist to choose Haymarket Family and Cosmetic Dentistry. They will treat you right and be honest with you. I am glad I found Dr. David Mortved.
My wife and I (and now kids) have been going here since we moved down to Haymarket 6 years ago. Best dentist I have ever had. He re-did an old crown on a front tooth and did an amazing job. He takes is time and is very precise. We have been happy with the Hygienist staff as well.
This was my first experience with Dr. Mortvedt for a detailed dental procedure. Had to have 2 upper crowns replaced. This is the first time I have had detailed dental work without severe after effects like residual pain and pounding headaches. Not this time! Not only was the procedure itself virtually pain free, but there were absolutely NO after effects. I am convinced it was largely due to the care Dr. Mortvedt took, taking his time to be sure everything was in perfect order. I never thought I would call a detailed dental procedure "pleasant", but it really was. I will not hesitate to get needed work done in the future.
Dr. Mortvedt has been my dentist since 1998. He is the most talented, skilled dentist I have every used. His treatment approach is conservative and his focus is on prevention of future problems. For me, he has prevented development of gum disease which had been a lifelong concern. He has improved the appearance of my mouth with his cosmetic dentistry skills. Best of all, going to Dr. Mortvedt's office and being cared for by him and his very competent staff is not like a dental appointment but more like a visit with good friends.
They broke my retainer during a cleaning. I went back about 3 weeks later to consult on teeth separation and asking if they could check and make sure that my retainer was still fine. They assured me that they everything was fine but offered an expensive and temporary solution. I had to go to a different clinic only to find out the retainer was completely broken and my new dental separation and issues were all caused by this incident. Very dishonest. The treatment to fix this issue is now thousands of dollars, while if they had told me from the beginning it would have been about $300.
